Computer Science and Engineering
Department of Computer Science and Engineering is headed by Prof. Parameshwarappa C M. Department is imparting a quality education, keeping in mind the important role of software in the industry and in providing service to the better social life and overall development of mankind. Computer Science & Engineering department was established in the year 1992 with the Intake of 30. Now the current intake is 90.
The department has enough number of computers of the reputed brands like IBM, HP, Acer, HCL machines, IBM Xeon Servers and the department also manages 100 Mbps Leased Line Internet connectivity and two broadband internet connectivity. Department has subscribed to Microsoft Campus agreement program, which helps to get all the necessary software required by Staff and Students to carry out state of the art projects. e-Journals subscription has been done to encourage research activities amongst faculty members and students. All the computers spread across the campus are being networked together. The department also maintain WiFi connectivity around the campus.

“ BYTE ZONE”, the association of Department of Computer Science & Engineering is involved in conducting various technical activities like Paper presentation, Technical seminars, Skill development programs, Technical Quiz, Code debugging, Workshops etc.,
BYTE ZONE
Department of Computer Science & Engineering established a forum for students called ‘BYTE ZONE’, a stage set for the students to increase their depth of technical knowledge and improve their communicational skills.

Two days workshop was conducted by Byte Zone association, Department of Computer Science
& Engineering on “Web Development” for 5th semester students of CSE and ISE on
18-11-2019 & 19-11-2019.
Freshers Day-2k19
“Freshers Day” was conducted by Computer Science & Engineering under the banner of Byte Zone association for 3rd semester students on 1st Oct 2019.
Workshop on IOT
Department of computer science successfully conducted 2-day workshop on Internet of things
for 6th Sem students from 19th Mar to 20th Mar, 2019.
In this workshop we planned to cater the knowledge on current technologies & we succeded
with active participation of more than 65 students.
Technical Talk on Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence & Blockchain
Computer Science & Engineering department, organized “Technical Talk” for computer science students on 9th March 2019 in main seminar hall of STJIT under the co-ordination of Asst. Prof. Santhosh T.
Technical talk was given by the chief guests Mr. Harish & Mr. Mahesh, Karunadu Technologies on current technologies [Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence & Blockchain].
Workshop on Android & PHP
Department of computer science successfully conducted 3-day workshop on Android
application development and Web application development using PHP for 7th & 5th Sem
students from 2nd Nov to 4th Nov, 2018.
In this workshop we planned to cater the knowledge on current technologies & we succeded
with active participation of more than 150 students.
Freshers Day-2k18
Computer Science & Engineering department, organized “Fresher’s Day” for third semester students on 20th october 2018 in main seminar hall of STJIT under the co-ordination of Asst. Prof. Santhosh T.
The chief guest Dr. Shivakumara B, Principal, STJ Insitute of Technology inaugurated the function by lighting the lamp and ignited the minds of freshers by giving valuable advices. Prof. Parameshwarappa C M, HOD, Computer Science & Engineering suggested how to make use of current technologies and available resources to achieve success. Various activities were conducted for fresher’s in the afternoon session.
